Corrine "Corky" A. Moe

March 17, 1944 — November 30, 2014

Corrine “Corky” Adierre Myhra Breding Moe, 70, of Underwood, MN, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls after a courageous battle with cancer.

Corky was born March 17, 1944 to Henry and Selma (Wolf) Myhra in Stanley, ND. She attended Pioneer School through seventh grade and continued on to Stanley High School, graduating in 1962. Corky spent her college years at NDSU, earning a BS in Home Economics and a Minor in music in 1966. She enjoyed playing trumpet for the concert band and the NDSU Gold Star Marching Band, and was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority.

In 1969, Corky married K. Gregory Breding in Stanley, ND, and lived in LaMoure, ND. Greg passed away as the result of a car accident in 1973. In 1976, she was united in marriage to John Moe at Tingvold Church of rural Underwood.

Corky taught Home Economics for three years in New Town, ND, for three years in LaMoure, ND, and also taught music in Powers Lake, ND for one year. After moving to Underwood, she occasionally was a substitute teacher at Underwood Public School. She loved being a homemaker and helping on the farm which included cooking many meals for the guys especially during planting and harvesting seasons.

Corky was a member of Maine Presbyterian Church where she acted as choir director, organist, and pianist. She belonged to the Presbyterian Women, church quilting groups, and Sverdrup Homemakers. She liked decorating the church for all the seasons.

Corky enjoyed many hobbies including photography, oil painting, quilting, dancing, singing, playing the accordion, watching Justin and Lindsey compete in horse shows and school sporting events, playing organ at the church starting at the young age of ten, taking daily walks, traveling, snowmobiling, having dinner parties, decorating the house, planting flowers, spending time at Lake Ann, mowing the lawn, watching the sunsets, observing and listening to the loons, and pontooning around Lake Ann. She loved many types of music, especially country. One of her favorite artists was George Strait and she was able to attend four of his concerts. The family pets added much enjoyment to her daily life. Corky also loved sitting in front of the fireplace in the family room on cold, winter nights. She enjoyed walking with the family around the golf course watching Justin and Lindsey golf. She was a good sport to go on trips to the mountains to ski with the family.

One of Corky’s favorite quotes to live by was “DANCE like nobody is watching and SING like nobody is listening”. She loved the lyrics to the song “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack: “When you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I HOPE YOU DANCE”.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Henry and Selma; husband, Greg Breding; special black lab, Harley.

Corky is survived by her husband, John Moe of Underwood, MN; children, Justin Moe of Underwood, MN, Lindsey Moe of Fargo, ND; sisters, Ceceile (Bert) Kinzler of Underwood, MN, Mary Ann (Tim) Kretschmar of Rapid City, SD, Jackie (Robert) Sorenson of St. Paul, MN; longtime college friends, Donna Isley and Marcia Kelly.
