Allen Monson

Allen Monson, age 64, of Fergus Falls, died on Saturday, October 31, 2015, in Park River, ND.

Allen was born on March 13, 1951, in Grafton, ND, the son of Manville and Dorothy (Houska) Monson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith. He attended grade school in Rothsay and then graduated from Fergus Falls High School.

After graduation, Allen worked for Mark Sand and Gravel. Later he moved to Denver, CO. He was the foreman for a road construction company, called Lightning Ventures for thirty years. He married Fran Bourcy in 1983. He loved construction work and was very dedicated.

He returned to Fergus Falls to be closer to his family, because of his declining health. His hobbies were working on cars and engines, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed all family events.

He was preceded in death by his father, Manville Monson; a sister LaVonne Pendergrass; and a brother, Marty Monson.

Allen is survived by his mother, Dorothy Monson of Fergus Falls; a brother, Ron (Eldora) Monson of Fergus Falls; his nephews, Trever Monson of Alexandria, Tyler (Kirsten) Monson of Fergus Falls, Troy Monson of Minneapolis; his nieces, Kim (Jeff) Hoffman of Champlin and Kay (Bob) Streitz of Champlin; a brother-in-law, Bob Pendergrass of Alexandria; an uncle, Arnold Monson of Park River, ND; and two aunts, Eleaner Monsbroten of Grand Forks, ND, and Millie Houska of Grafton, ND.
