Alan Arnold Erickson

Alan Arnold Erickson, 69, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at his home.
Alan was born on May 4, 1946, to James A. and Luella (Sleen) Erickson in Pelican Rapids. He attended elementary school in Pelican Rapids and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1964. Alan was enlisted in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969, serving in Vietnam.
On July 28, 1984, Alan married Mary Margaret Carlson in Fergus Falls. Over the years he worked at Crane Johnson Lumber in Pelican Rapids, Mid Am Dairy in Fergus Falls and Egge Construction in Pelican Rapids. He was also a farmer.
Alan enjoyed deer hunting, hobby farming and John Deere Tractors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Luella Erickson; a sister; and a niece.
Alan is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Mary Erickson of Fergus Falls; a brother-in-law, Richard (Pam) Carlson; nephews, Jason Fischer, Brad (Juliane) Carlson and their daughter, Sara Carlson, Brett Carlson; a niece, Kim (Matt Perrier) Carlson; also surviving are aunts, uncles and cousins.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
